The Lambangian Peoples Organization (LPO)

The Lambangian Peoples Organization in Sitio Benuan, barangay Kuya, South Upi, Maguindanao was born in 2013 inspired by the members’ reflection that they have a better chance to promote, develop and transmit their indigenous knowledge through strengthening their collective actions.

They envision a community with abundant and well-managed resources sustaining a simple and healthy lifestyle. With such a vision, they are committed to strengthening indigenous land, water and ecosystems management, reviving traditional plant varieties, and strengthening and developing indigenous farming systems. They aim to conserve and manage natural resources, increase agricultural production for food sovereignty and security, and promote, innovate and transmit indigenous knowledge.
